We recently received the very sad news that Mo Walls, Chairperson of Grotto Hill Area Street Scheme in Cliftonville, passed away on the 24th June in QEQM Hospital after a short illness.
This was a great shock to us all as Mo was a very well known and regarded supporter of the Community in Cliftonville West and was a great influence in the area.
Mo worked tirelessly to improve the area of Grotto Hill and be a spokeswoman for the residents in numerous meetings, both with Councillors and Officers of Thanet District Council as well as the Police and Cliftonville Task Force.
She organised Children’s Fun Days, Barbecues, OAP coffee mornings, Outings, Christmas Raffles, ran the under five area in the Cliftonville Games, Street Clean up days of bulky waste with the help of the Council refuse Department, and many other events. She also chaired the residents meetings for the last 13 years.
Mo will be sadly missed by all the Cliftonville Groups who worked with her over the years.
We send our condolences to Mo’s family at their sudden loss and to Marie her friend and supporter, always at her side.
